These terms govern use of the TestMate website, app and beta services. By using TestMate, you agree to these terms.

These terms govern use of the TestMate website, app and beta services. By using TestMate, you agree to these terms.

If you do not agree, do not use the service.

About TestMate

TestMate is a field-workspace app for electricians. Its features may include site visits, evidence capture, work notes, video walkthroughs, electrical testing records, task sheets, reports, Property Memory, reminders and file-based integration tools.

During beta development, features may be incomplete, changed, restricted or removed.

Professional use

TestMate is designed to support suitably competent electrical professionals. It does not replace:

  • Professional knowledge, training or judgement.

  • Safe isolation procedures or safe systems of work.

  • BS 7671 or other applicable regulations and standards.

  • Manufacturer instructions.

  • Scheme-provider requirements.

  • Required inspections, measurements or independent verification.

The user remains responsible for deciding which work, inspections and tests are required and whether an installation or result is acceptable.

No compliance guarantee

TestMate records and organises information supplied by the user. A completed workflow, score, warning, report or certificate preview does not guarantee legal, regulatory or technical compliance.

Before issuing or relying on any report, task sheet, observation or certificate, the user must review its accuracy, completeness and suitability.

AI-generated content

AI features may generate summaries, suggested tasks, observations, explanations or image-analysis results.

AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete or inappropriate. It is assistance, not a compliance decision or substitute for professional judgement.

Users must verify AI output before acting on it or sharing it with a customer or third party.

Do not use TestMate AI as the sole basis for any safety-critical decision.

Accounts, devices and permissions

Users are responsible for:

  • Maintaining control of their device.

  • Preventing unauthorised access.

  • Granting only the permissions they are comfortable using.

  • Keeping suitable backups.

  • Checking exported information before sharing it.

  • Complying with workplace, customer and legal requirements.

User content

Users retain ownership of information they enter, capture or import into TestMate.

By submitting content to an optional processing feature, the user grants TestMate and the relevant service provider the limited permission necessary to perform the requested action.

Users confirm that they have the necessary rights and permissions to record, process, store and share the content they add.

Privacy and recordings

Users must respect the privacy of customers, occupants, colleagues and other individuals.

Do not secretly record private conversations. Obtain permission where required before capturing identifiable people, speech, private property information or confidential documents.

Use of personal information is also governed by the TestMate Privacy Policy.

Backups and data loss

Most job information is stored locally on the device. Users should create regular complete backups and confirm that important exports can be opened.

Deleting the app, losing the device, replacing data or failing to retain a backup may permanently remove information.

TestMate does not guarantee that locally lost information can be recovered.

Tradify Bridge and third-party services

The Tradify Bridge may import or export user-selected files and prepare handover packages.

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • It is not live account synchronisation.

  • It does not imply an official Tradify partnership or endorsement.

  • Users must review imported and exported information.

  • Third-party services remain subject to their own terms and availability.

TestMate is not responsible for changes, outages or restrictions imposed by third-party services.

Acceptable use

Users must not:

  • Use TestMate unlawfully or unsafely.

  • Attempt to interfere with the service or bypass security.

  • Upload malicious code or deliberately harmful content.

  • Misrepresent AI output as independently verified professional advice.

  • Use TestMate to impersonate another person or falsify records.

  • Copy, resell or reverse-engineer the app except where the law expressly permits it.

  • Infringe intellectual-property, confidentiality or privacy rights.

Beta availability

Beta software may contain defects and may not always be available. TestMate may change, suspend or withdraw beta features without notice where reasonably necessary.

Users should not rely on a beta version as the only copy of any essential business, safety or compliance record.

Fees

Any paid subscription, purchase or trial will be clearly described before payment. Pricing, included features and renewal terms may change for future billing periods with appropriate notice.

Apple’s payment and refund rules may also apply to App Store purchases.

Intellectual property

TestMate’s app, website, branding, design, software and original content are protected by intellectual-property laws.

These terms grant a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use TestMate for its intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership of TestMate’s intellectual property.

Service limitations

TestMate is provided with reasonable care, but no software is completely error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TestMate does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, compatibility with every device, or that every output will be accurate or complete.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

TestMate is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses caused by reliance on unverified information, failure to maintain backups, misuse of the service or unavailable third-party systems.

Suspension or termination

Access may be suspended or terminated where a user materially breaches these terms, misuses the service, creates a security risk or where suspension is reasonably necessary to protect TestMate or others.

Users may stop using TestMate at any time. They should export any information they wish to retain before deleting the app.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights that apply in the user’s location.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as TestMate develops. Material changes will be published on this page and the “Last updated” date will be revised.

Continued use after an updated version takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
